The ancient art of belly dancing traces its roots back hundreds of years to the Middle East, and now Los Cab members can experience it as part of their fitness routine thanks to a newly offered class.

Belly dancing classes are now available Monday and Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. in the Pilates studio, where instructor Sherri takes participants through the expressive movements – whether they’re experienced belly dancers or just trying it for the first time. There’s even the option to try sword belly dancing, in which a sword is incorporated into the routine.

“It’s a great core workout,” said Group Fitness Program Manager Marianne Grossman, adding that the class is definitely unique and can spice up your usual gym routine.
