PLANK:
To perform this move, simply lay on your stomach and place your forearms on the ground. Make sure your elbows are under your shoulders, then lift your body off the ground while keeping a straight line from your heels to the back of your shoulders.

“This is a great way to strengthen your core as a whole all in one exercise, including the small muscles that help support the spine,” Grossman said.

SIDE PLANK:
This is done the same way as a plank except on one side of the body with one arm. It works the obliques and is very important for building core strength.

“I like side planks because the obliques are a muscle group that often gets neglected,” he said.
