A 7.0 team of 40-and-over mixed doubles players will be representing Los Cab at the USTA League Nationals in Orlando on November 16-18 after winning the Southern California sectionals last month in Santa Barbara. Johnny Cheng, a co-captain on the team and a member at Los Cab for nearly four years, said it’s an exciting time for the players and the club.
“I think for most of the players this will be their first time going to nationals,” Cheng said.
Making it to nationals is a pretty big deal – approximately 900,000 players nationwide compete in USTA League play, with only about 6,000 advancing to the 14 national championship tournaments.
