Los Cab’s annual Gift Wrapping Party is scheduled for Tuesday, December 17, when members will gather for a tennis social, lunch and some holiday cheer as they wrap presents to be given to a family in need as part of the club’s 16th Adopt-A-Family event. Approximately 25-35 members are expected to attend.
“We have been doing this for many years, and it’s very important because we get to give back to those not as fortunate,” said Tracy Harris at the Tennis Desk.
Working with the local non-profit Share Our Selves, Los Cab will be assigned to a local family and given details on each family member, including their ages, clothing sizes and wish lists. Registration fees for the tennis social subsidize the costs of the gifts, which are typically toys and warm winter clothes for the kids, and whatever may be on the parents’ lists.
The club also provides a gift card to Stater Brothers to help the family put together a holiday dinner.
