If the atmosphere around Los Cab Sports Village seemed a little more spirited than usual in late October, it could only mean one thing – the club’s annual Tennis Calcutta and pairings party had arrived. The once-a-year celebration kicked off on October 19 and featured a lively Friday night party to kick off the festivities, followed by two days of competitive tennis action.
Los Cab Events Coordinator Thao Le estimated that 300 members attended the pairings party, which featured a Roaring ’20s theme that had attendees dressing to the nines like characters right out of The Great Gatsby. Dinner was catered by Pasta Connection, a local favorite that has served Argentine and Italian dishes in Costa Mesa for more than 30 years and is owned by club member Yadira Hernandez.
“It was different this year compared to last because we had a very specific theme,” Le said. “I think a lot of members had fun with that.”
