BADMINTON RULES & REGULATIONS

Welcome

Welcome to Los Cab Badminton. Our goal is to provide a safe, friendly, and enjoyable environment for players of all ages and skill levels. All members and guests are expected to follow these rules to ensure everyone has a positive experience.

1. GENERAL CONDUCT

  • Treat all members, guests, staff, coaches, and officials with courtesy and respect.
  • Unsportsmanlike conduct, abusive language, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Fighting or threatening behavior may result in immediate removal and suspension or termination of membership.
  • Members are responsible for the conduct of their guests.
  • Follow all instructions from Los Cab staff.

2. COURT ETIQUETTE

  • Courts are for badminton play only.
  • Enter a court only after the previous game has ended.
  • Do not walk across an active court during play.
  • Return shuttlecocks promptly and safely to neighboring courts.
  • Keep noise to a reasonable level during active play.
  • Do not distract players during rallies.
  • Please shake hands or acknowledge your opponents after each match.

3. COURT RESERVATIONS

  • Courts may be reserved through the club reservation system.
  • Reservations are limited according to current club policies.
  • Members must check in before using reserved courts.
  • Courts not claimed within 10 minutes may be released to other members.
  • Sharing reservations or booking courts under another person’s name is prohibited.
  • Los Cab reserves the right to adjust court assignments when necessary.

4. OPEN PLAY

  • During Open Play sessions, players are expected to rotate fairly.
  • Games should generally be limited to one game to 21 points when others are waiting.
  • Winners and losers rotate according to posted Open Play procedures.
  • Please help welcome new players into games whenever possible.

5. ACADEMY & LESSONS

  • Only Los Cab-approved coaches may provide paid instruction.
  • Private coaching by non-approved instructors is prohibited.
  • Academy participants must follow instructor directions.
  • Parents should remain outside the court area unless invited by staff.

6. APPROPRIATE ATTIRE

Players must wear:

  • Non-marking indoor court shoes
  • Appropriate athletic clothing
  • Shirts must remain on at all times.

The following are prohibited:

  • Black-soled shoes that mark courts
  • Sandals
  • Bare feet
  • Street shoes
  • Jeans or clothing that may damage the courts

Players may be denied court access if improperly dressed.

7. EQUIPMENT

  • Members are responsible for their own racquets.
  • Only feather or club-approved nylon shuttlecocks may be used during designated sessions.
  • Do not hit shuttlecocks against walls, ceilings, or lighting.
  • Do not abuse nets, posts, benches, or club equipment.
  • Damaging club property may result in repair charges.

8. SAFETY

  • Play at your own risk.
  • Warm up before playing.
  • Report injuries immediately to staff.
  • Keep bags and personal belongings off the playing surface.
  • Food and beverages are not permitted on the courts, except water in closed containers.
  • Clean spills immediately.

9. CHILDREN

  • Children under 12 must be supervised unless participating in an organized program.
  • Running or playing around courts is prohibited.
  • Parents are responsible for supervising their children.

10. PERSONAL BELONGINGS

  • Los Cab Sports Club is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
  • Do not leave valuables unattended.
  • Lost items should be turned in to the Front Desk.

11. FOOD & DRINK

Allowed:

  • Water
  • Sports drinks in sealed containers

Not Allowed:

  • Alcohol
  • Glass containers
  • Food on the courts
  • Chewing gum on playing surfaces

12. CLEANLINESS

Please help keep the facility clean.

  • Dispose of trash properly.
  • Pick up shuttle tubes and used grips.
  • Leave courts in good condition for the next players.

13. GUEST POLICY

Guests must:

  • Register at the Front Desk.
  • Pay applicable guest fees.
  • Sign any required waivers.
  • Follow all club rules.

Guests may be denied access during busy periods.

14. TOURNAMENTS & SPECIAL EVENTS

Club tournaments and special events have priority over regular reservations.

Los Cab reserves the right to:

  • Close courts
  • Reassign courts
  • Modify schedules

Advance notice will be provided whenever possible.

15. MEMBER DISCIPLINE

Violations may result in:

  • Verbal warning
  • Written warning
  • Suspension of court privileges
  • Membership suspension
  • Permanent membership termination

Serious violations may result in immediate removal without warning.

16. LIABILITY

Participation in badminton activities involves inherent risks.

By participating, members and guests voluntarily assume all risks associated with play and agree that Los Cab Sports Club, its owners, employees, instructors, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for injuries, accidents, loss, theft, or damage to personal property except as required by applicable law.

17. PHOTOGRAPHY

Los Cab may photograph or record club activities for promotional purposes.

Members who do not wish to appear in promotional materials should notify management in writing.

18. CLUB POLICIES

Los Cab Sports Club reserves the right to:

  • Modify these Rules and Regulations
  • Adjust operating hours
  • Change court schedules
  • Update reservation policies
  • Revise membership policies as necessary
