There was plenty on the line for tennis players when Los Cab Sports Village hosted its annual Men’s and Women’s Doubles Club Championships May 5-6. With 110 players registered, there were divisions for juniors, skill levels from 3.0 to open, and age groups from 50s to 70s. Winners were awarded a commemorative championship jacket embroidered with their name, a year of guest privileges, and a complimentary six-month subscription to the ball machine. Finalists also were awarded prizes.

“Players and staff look forward to championship events every year,” said Thao Le of the club’s tennis staff, adding that February’s singles and mixed-doubles championships are also highly anticipated. “Unlike the Doo Dahs, which have a relaxed atmosphere, the tournaments are more competitive on the courts.”
